And a little more on sleeping …..
Some more thoughtful sleeping assistance from The Guardian with their 12 rules for a good nights sleep.
Getting better quality sleep
Sleeping well is an important part of our health. It plays an important role in your physical health and is involved in healing and repair of your heart and blood vessels. Ongoing sleep deficiency is linked to an increased risk of heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and stroke.
It appears the average human needs about 7-9 hrs sleep a night. and good quality sleep will go a lot further than 8 hrs of restless rolling about. This great 2 minute video from Vox offers 3 easy starters for a good quality sleep.
Magnesium
Magnesium is fantastic for a wide range of neuromuscular symptoms. It can be highly effective for cramps, eye twitches, some heart palpitations, general muscle and nervous tension and sleeping issues.
Magnesium is found naturally in dark leafy greens, nuts, seeds, fish, beans, whole grains, avocados, yoghurt, bananas, dried fruit and dark chocolate (yay!). Magnesium supplements can be very helpful at times of stress and/or high physical engagement. You’ll know you’ve taken too much if you start running to the toilet every five minutes!
